Aside for Windows

Your meeting copilot, right in the system tray.

Aside hears your call, transcribes it on your PC with a local Whisper model, and streams AI answers into a floating panel beside Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. No bot joins the meeting.

Windows 10 (version 2004) or 11, 64-bit · No admin rights · Free 30-day trial

Built for Windows

Everything happens on your PC, beside the call.

Aside lives in the system tray and stays out of the way until someone asks a question.

Lives in your system tray

Start listening from the tray or with Ctrl+Alt+L. Aside offers a gentle nudge when your meeting app opens.

Transcribed on your PC

A local Whisper model runs on your graphics card through Vulkan (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel), or on the CPU, more slowly. Cloud transcription is there for PCs that can’t keep up, off by default.

Hears both sides

Aside captures your microphone and your PC’s system audio separately, so every line is tagged You or Them and answers land with the right context.

Answers as the question lands

When someone asks a question, in English or Spanish, a Claude-powered answer streams into the panel. Pick Fast, Smart or Max.

Ask without leaving the call

Press Ctrl+Alt+A to type a question to Aside, or nudge any answer Shorter, Deeper, with an Example, or Simpler. Every shortcut can be changed in Settings.

Wrap-ups when you want them

Every session is saved on your PC. Press Wrap up for an overview, key questions, action items and a follow-up email draft.

Getting started

Set up in a couple of minutes.

01

Run the installer

It sets Aside up for your Windows account and adds it to the Start menu, with no admin rights needed.

02

Get past SmartScreen once

Aside is new, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” the first time. Click More info, then Run anyway.

03

Join your call

Start listening when the meeting begins. Questions get answers beside the call, and the transcript stays in your session history.

Questions about Aside on Windows

Do I need a graphics card?

No, but it helps. A GPU with Vulkan drivers keeps transcription real-time. On the CPU alone it runs more slowly, and a PC that falls behind can switch on cloud transcription in Settings. It’s off by default, and Aside explains what changes before you turn it on.

Why does Windows warn me about the installer?

SmartScreen warns about apps it hasn’t seen many times before. Aside is new, so you may see it once: click More info, then Run anyway. If your browser says the file isn’t commonly downloaded, choose Keep.

Which meeting apps does it work with?

Anything your PC can hear: Zoom, Google Meet in any browser, Microsoft Teams, Webex and phone bridges. Aside doesn’t connect to your meeting accounts or your calendar. More on meeting apps.

Can it read my screen too?

Yes. Screen Assist answers what’s on your screen when you press Ctrl+Shift+Space. Turn it on in Settings first.

How do updates work?

Aside downloads new versions in the background and installs them the next time it starts.

What does it cost?

Thirty days and 40 answers are free, with no card. After that, Pro is $19 a month for 600 answers, and Max is $39 a month for 1,500 answers and the Max model. See the plans.
